Though their attempt to establish a foothold in the retail sector was ultimately unsuccessful it did spawn a new direction in packaging design, namely the Wiberg Spice Box.
Coming up with new packaging can be fraught with difficulties, especially when a relatively small company is looking for genuinely innovative design.
The fact that we ultimately achieved this goal was has been recognised at the highest levels.
The spice box is a unique combination of a traditional spice chute/scoop with a classic tin container. Rotating the chute to the upright position also opens the closing. Once some spices have been tipped onto the chute the cook can chose between taking a pinch or directly tipping/shaking onto the food.
